Our client is defining a global strategy, beginning in the European market, and needs someone to be responsible for product compliance to meet various national and regional regulations.

Products must be registered before being launched, so the different regulatory requirements of each market need to be understood, specifically which active ingredients and co-formulants are allowed and not allowed when manufacturing or formulating chemical products.

This person will work across many global and regional teams - regulatory, Chemistry R&D, supply chain (procurement and production), IT. By doing so, the aim is to align the dataflow and improve the quality of the data so that there is a seamless integration of data through product development, registration, demand planning, procurement and manufacturing.

The right person will also be able to lead a communication and awareness program of the regulatory conditions to ensure compliance.

Duties and responsibilities for this position

Employing good change management practise and coordinating digital projects, data alignment, training and communication efforts at a global level for the next 3 years. Not only to reduce the risks to compliance, but also to optimise the value of digital improvements to the business.

This newly-created role will help our client build and deploy a strategy that will increase data security on product compositions while maximising savings via sharing information globally and increasing business agility to produce flexible, tailor-made and cost efficient products that adhere to laws and regulations across regions and countries.

This person will also be responsible for presenting the compliance strategy to authorities when needed.

Key Experience

  • Regulatory experience from the chemistry side, rather than toxicology/scientific
  • Would consider Pharma as well as Agriculture profiles
  • A thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to put them into practice when producing chemical products 
  • Experience of early production product chemistry side, rather than the product registration side
  • Familiar with composition statements and the manufacturing process
